Hello! My name is Eva Chocholackova, also known as Evka. I am an illustrator based in Slovakia.

I focus on illustrations for middle grade and chapter books, kid magazines and children's non-fiction. I love bringing stories to life with my art, especially those inspired by history, mythology and fairy tales.

I'm in love with watercolors and inks, although I mostly work with digital tools, which allow me more flexibility with edits. I got my first book about digital art when I was 7 and I've been doing it ever since. However, I aim to recreate the soft organic feel of traditional media in my digital work.

When I am not drawing I love exploring the great outdoors with my two dogs and travelling.

Evka's work is so charming, full of life and hand-drawn quirkiness. Her eye for storytelling and fun details make her an ideal illustrator to work with for children's or tweens' projects.

Evka´s work has a delightful charm full of tenderness and warmth. A touch of Miyazaki, with a bit of Tove Jansson and a sprinkle of Central European illustration tradition.
